US-Saudi relations: Biden plans to ‘recalibrate’ ties with kingdom

Posted on

The Biden administration says it is “recalibrating” its relationship with Saudi Arabia, marking a sharp change in policy from the Trump presidency.
US President Joe Biden will deal directly with King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud rather than his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Biden says the United States will no longer support Saudi-led operations in Yemen and has called on Saudi Arabia to respect human rights.

Al Jazeera’s Mike Hanna reports from Washington, DC, the US.
