The UN Human Rights Council, in a new report, says Sri Lanka is blocking inquiries into international crimes and rights violations carried out during its brutal 30-year civil war which ended in 2009.
And it says the government is quashing protests about the thousands of people who went missing during that time.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s government has rejected all allegations in the report, calling it “divisive rhetoric”.
